Sadio Mane could extend his stay at Liverpool at the end of the season, according to Paul Joyce from The Times, as cited by Anfield Watch on Twitter.

The winger is out of contract at the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign. With that being the case, Mane has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich.

However, Joyce has revealed that Mane does not have a release clause in his contract and the Senegal international has not indicated he wants to leave the club.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Mane is a top player. The winger has scored 118 goals and registered 47 assists in 265 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

Mane has also been having a decent 2021-22 campaign. The Senegal international has been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.19.

Mane, 30, is far from finished as a professional footballer. It was not that long ago Reds boss Jurgen Klopp labelled his No.10 as "world-class".

“I remember this unbelievably talented boy we took from Southampton,” the German said back in 2020, as quoted by This Is Anfield.

“He was really outstanding skill-wise but had a little lack of consistency which is probably why people thought: ‘Really? So much money? (£37.08 million) You watch the wrong game!’

“Maybe people thought ‘I am not sure he is worth it’, but we were 100 percent sure about him.

“Consistency was the key and absolutely now what he is doing and how he performs is consistent. The level he performs at is unbelievable.

“He is a complete player, offensively and defensively He works hard, he is really quick.

“For sure a few things we did from a tactical point of view helped the boys as well and Sadio is a good example for the improvement of the whole squad.

“He has obviously improved a lot in the last few years—and from a very high level already—becoming a very good player to a world-class player, no doubt about that, and he is a winner on top of that.”

Therefore, we do hope that the club and Mane can reach new terms.
