Who is Amara Nallo? The Liverpool teenage sensation set to make his debut vs Southampton
Amara Nallo has been called-up to Arne Slot's first team squad for the Reds' clash against Southampton, and he could be in line to make his debut.
With a shortage of defenders available for the Liverpool head coach after injuries ruled out Conor Bradley, Ibrahima Konate and Kostas Tsimikas, the 18-year-old youngster had been named in the Liverpool squad at St James' Park against Newcastle United earlier this month.

Back then, he didn't get on the pitch. However, now with a further suspension to Andy Robertson, there is a good chance he will make his debut against Southampton in the League Cup.
But just who is the young centre-back?
Who is Amara Nallo?
Nallo was signed by Liverpool as a 16-year-old after catching the eye at West Ham United back in the summer of 2023.
He was signed at the same time as Trey Nyoni, who is also in the squad against Newcastle.
Initially joining the club's U18 side, Nallo has since been promoted to the U21s and has recently earned the captain's armband for both the U21 team and the U19 team, who play in the UEFA Youth League.
He is predominantly a centre-back who is very composed on the ball and has impressive numbers this season.
His numbers have been very good this season, too. According to Wyscout, he has won 73.1% of his defensive duels and 63.3% of his aerial duels. Meanwhile he also averages 3.77 interceptions and 11.58 recoveries per 90.
One of his biggest strengths is his ability on the ball. Nallo is very comfortable in possession and has 92.1% pass completion rate this season.
That's something that should help him settle into Liverpool much easier considering Slot is very keen on using defenders who are able to progress the ball quickly and effectively into dangerous forward territories.
Considered as one of the club's brightest young prospects in the academy, this current injury crisis could be a huge opportunity for Nallo to make his mark in the first team.
