"Always" - Pep Guardiola previews upcoming clash against Liverpool

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has recently spoken about Liverpool Football Club.

The Reds will welcome the Citizens to Anfield on Sunday. Liverpool have had a troubled start to the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.

The Reds have only won two of their opening eight Premier League fixtures.

Manchester City on the other hand are flying. The Sky Blues have not lost a game in the Premier League.

Despite that being the case, Guardiola believes Liverpool could cause his team a problem or two come Sunday.

“It is always (a huge test),” the Spaniard was quoted as saying by Manchester City's official website.

“But after the game (against Southampton), I am really, really tired.

“After three games (in seven days), I don’t have any intention to think about Liverpool, I will think about Copenhagen, and we want to finish at the top of the (Champions League) group.

“After Copenhagen I have four days to prepare for the game in Anfield.

“But I don’t have to tell you how competitive it will be – the biggest test we can face in England.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool have been Manchester City's closest challenger in recent years. However, there is no denying that the Reds are no longer the same side.

Liverpool have dropped off big time this season. Therefore, we would fully expect Manchester City to secure the points come Sunday.

But, football is a funny game where anything can happen. With that being the case, we won't rule out Jurgen Klopp's team just yet.
