Alisson Becker's wonder stop in Liverpool's victory over Newcastle has been nominated for the Premier League's Save of the Month award for August.

The Brazilian – who recently missed out on a nomination for the Yashin Trophy – joins five other keepers on the shortlist for the first of the monthly awards in 2023/24 season, with fans able to cast their votes for Liverpool's number one.

Alisson sprung into action when Miguel Almiron unleashed a volley from the edge of the area at St. James' Park, tipping the fiercely struck effort onto the bar, before palming away the chance for a rebound.

Liverpool went on to win the game 2-1, thanks to a Alisson's stop and a late brace from substitute Darwin Nuñez, with Newcastle boss Eddie Howe describing the save as among the best he's ever seen.

How to vote for Alisson

Fans can get behind Alisson by voting for his save on the Premier League's website, with votes able to be cast until 12:00 BST on Monday 11 September.

All fan votes will be taken into account alongside those of a 'panel of experts', with the overall winner announced the following week.
