Alisson Becker is set to make his 250th appearance for Liverpool against Newcastle United on New Year's Day.

Having signed from AS Roma in the summer of 2018, the Brazilian shot-stopper is now into his sixth season on Merseyside, winning everything there is to win during that time.

Cementing himself as the best goalkeeper in the world, Alisson has thus far kept 108 clean sheets during his tenure at Anfield.

And lest we forget his exploits down the other end of the pitch, with Alisson also having a famous goal to his name, heading in a crucial injury-time winner against West Brom in 2021 - a goal that would prove the difference in earning Liverpool qualification to the Champions League that year.

Having splashed the cash five and a half years ago to solve our then goalkeeping woes once and for all, it's safe to say that the signing of Alisson has well and truly paid dividends, and then some.

And now, barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Brazilian will surely hit the milestone of 250 appearances for the club, doing so under the Anfield lights as Liverpool play host to the Magpies in the Premier League.

Liverpool have a fantastic scoring record at home to Newcastle, having bagged in 27 consecutive home matches against Monday's opposition – a Premier League-record run.

It will be also Liverpool's first game on New Year's Day since 2018 when they won 2-1 at Burnley - a game which saw none other than Ragnar Klavan score a 94th-minute winner.
