Alexis Mac Allister provides surprising answer when quizzed on Liverpool's strongest player

Alexis Mac Allister feels Mohamed Salah and Kostas Tsimikas are among the strongest players in the current Liverpool squad.

The Argentina midfielder joined the club from Brighton and Hove Albion this summer and has slotted into the team seamlessly, starting each of Liverpool's five Premier League games so far.

When asked by Goal to name the strongest Liverpool player, Mac Allister said: “I would say Mo [Salah], or [Kostas] Tsimikas." Asked to expand on Salah, he added: “Oh, yes. He’s all day in the gym, so he is very strong.”

Salah topping the list shouldn't come as a huge surprise considering his ripped physique and his work ethic off the pitch. Speaking to France Football last summer, the Liverpool attacker admitted that he's got two rooms in his house dedicated to different fitness equipment and also joked that his wife feels he spends more time with his machines than with her.

He said (quotes via Mirror Football): "Two rooms in our house are dedicated to different fitness machines, bodybuilding. At home I can also do cryotherapy, there is a hyperbaric chamber. I am constantly looking to improve my physical condition.

"It's true that I like to say that my house looks like a hospital, [but] my wife doesn't like that! [She] says that I spend more time with my machines than with her! When I indulge in a great restaurant in London, I prefer sushi. I eat pizza once a month at the most. I love hamburgers, but I hardly ever eat them because afterwards, I feel heavy!"

Tsimikas getting a mention over the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, however, is a bit surprising, to say the least. Standing at just over 5'10 and weighing 77 kg, the Greek international obviously doesn't boast the most imposing physique, but judging by Mac Allister's words, he packs quite a punch.
