Links between Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid simply refuse to go away and talk may intensify after what the Liverpool star was spotted doing.

The England international is one of three Reds superstars - along with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk -  out of contract next June which means the club run the risk of losing the right-back next summer without receiving a substantial transfer fee.

In fact, according to recent reports in Spain, as per TodoFichajes, Alexander-Arnold is ready to run down the final 12 months of his deal at Anfield in order to arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu on a free transfer next summer.

Furthermore, the aforementioned report states that the La Liga giants attempted negotiations with the Reds over a transfer for the 25-year-old this summer but opted against a move after learning of the asking price.

Unsurprisingly it has since been claimed that new head coach Arne Slot is 'desperate' to keep hold of Alexander-Arnold, and plans to present his vision for the club's future to the defender in upcoming discussions.

However, has his head already been turned? That, of course, remains to be seen but an image has emerged on social media - via @theMadridZone on X (formerly Twitter) showing the defender signing a Real Madrid shirt for a supporter.

Trent meets Jude Bellingham for dinner

Now, Alexander-Arnold signing a Madrid shirt is not a hint over his future as he was simply doing a kind gesture for a fan, but it may play into the theory that the Spanish club are pulling out all the stops in a bid to convince the Liverpool star to make the switch.

There has been speculation that Jude Bellingham - a close friend of Alexander-Arnold - is on a mission to recruit the 25-year-old and persuade him to join Madrid and as per the Daily Mail, the pair were spotted together in LA having a meal.

With that said, it seems unlikely Alexander-Arnold will be sold this summer especially after new Liverpool sporting director, Richard Hughes - dropped the clearest hint yet that the Reds' vice-captain will be staying put alongside van Dijk and Salah.

"We expect all three to be totally committed to Liverpool next season," Hughes stated, thus indirectly ruling out a summer sale for the key trio.
