Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has admitted that Liverpool cannot now afford to drop any more points this season as they aim to overcome Manchester City in the title race.

The Reds are nine points off of the summit of the PL table with a game in hand on league leaders City, and so if they can win that there is still a decent chance of title number 20 getting earned this season.

Of course, a lot will depend on City and how well they respond to their draw at Southampton last time out, but all Liverpool can do is keep winning matches and applying pressure.

Indeed, Oxlade-Chamberlain has called on the Reds to just keep getting results:

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool have had a strong season this year, it's just the relentless nature of City that makes it look a little less positive.

Hopefully, though, they have blips on the way and the Reds can close the gap further.

A title race in the next few months would really be exciting for all.
