Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for Reds winger Sadio Mane after the club's Premier League clash against Leeds United at Anfield last night.

The Reds defeated the Whites 6-0 to take them within three points of league leaders Manchester City.

Mane found the back of the net twice in the last 10 minutes of the match.

Once the game had concluded, Klopp gave credit to the Senegal international.

"Sadio Mane's game was probably one of his best in the way he interpreted his role. Absolutely insane," Klopp told Sky Sports, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Mane was absolutely superb against Leeds United. The winger registered a WhoScored player rating of 9.94 against the Whites, which further backs up the aforementioned argument.

Mane would be feeling pretty confident about his game right now after helping Senegal secure the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

Overall, the 29-year-old's 2021-22 campaign has been solid. Mane has scored 13 goals and registered one assist in 30 appearances.

However, we aren't shocked to see the winger performing well. As Jamie Carragher explained back in October 2019, Mane is a machine.

The former defender told the club's official website: " I absolutely love him, he's my favourite player at the club. He's brilliant, he's always got a smile on his face, always there, always gets knocked about, gets goals, setting others up.

"He's the one who came in at the very start under Klopp, his first real big signing, and I think ever since then he's just been getting better and better. He's just a machine."

Liverpool will face Chelsea at Wembley Stadium for the League Cup on Sunday.

If Mane can perform near his best on the day, he will give his side a great chance of lifting the trophy come the end of the game.
