"A really promising start" - Pundit on Fabio Carvalho's start to life at Anfield
Pundit Paul Robinson has praised Liverpool new-boy Fabio Carvalho.
The Reds signed the attacker from Fulham for a transfer fee of £5.31 million earlier this summer.
Since then, Carvalho has scored two goals in seven appearances for Liverpool's first-team.
The 20-year-old started against Everton at Goodison Park last Saturday, which provides an insight into how much Klopp trusts the youngster.
Robinson has said the following about Carvalho in recent times.
"Carvalho has made a really promising start. The fact that Klopp is willing to start him in a Merseyside derby at Goodison Park says a lot," he told Football Insider, as quoted by AW on Twitter.
"Liverpool have got such a big injury list still, the last thing they need is Carvalho being out. (Jordan) Henderson missed the weekend. (Naby) Keita and Thiago are still injured.
"Klopp will be desperate to get some of these midfielders back because they are down to the bare bones right now.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
Carvalho looks so comfortable on the ball. The attacker looks to make things happen out on the pitch.
The exciting thing about Carvalho is that he is only 20 years of age. The youngster is far from the finished article.
Under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp, who is a world-class manager, Carvalho could develop into a serious player.
But, only time will tell if that is to be the case. Carvalho is contracted until the conclusion of the 2026-27 campaign.
So, he has plenty of time to prove his worth at Anfield.
