A look at Liverpool's run in for the 2021-22 Premier League title

Liverpool are right in the mix for the 2021-22 Premier League title.

With six top-flight games to go, the Reds are only one-point behind league leaders Manchester City. Chelsea sit in third-place on the table, but they are 10 points behind Liverpool.

So, it will either be the Reds or the Citizens lifting the trophy at the end of the season.

With that being the case, we thought that we would take a look at Liverpool's remaining Premier League fixtures for the season.

Southampton - St Mary's - Date to be confirmed

Southampton are not a great side. They sit in 13th-place on the table for a reason.

Therefore, this is a game that Liverpool should be winning comfortably.

Everton - Anfield - 24th of April

Everton are having a shocking season. They are currently fighting relegation. Liverpool also battered the Toffees 4-1 at Goodison Park back in December 2021.

Mohamed Salah scored a brace on the night. Despite everything that we have said, we don't expect the upcoming Merseyside derby to be an easy match for Liverpool.

Everton are looking to stay in the Premier League and stop the Reds from winning the title.

Newcastle - St James' Park - 30th of April

This is another game which could prove to be difficult for Liverpool. Newcastle United were fighting relegation before Eddie Howe became the manager of the club back in November 2021.

The Magpies now sit in 11th-place on the table, which highlights how much they have improved under the 44-year-old.

The Reds will need to play well at St James' Park if they are to claim the three points.

Tottenham Hotspur - Anfield - 7th of May

Tottenham did give Liverpool a few problems earlier on in the season. Spurs secured a 2-2 draw against the Reds in North London back in December.

Tottenham are also fighting for a place inside the top-four. Antonio Conte's side sit in fourth-place on the table thanks to goal difference.

Therefore, no Red should be expecting an easy game against Spurs in a few weeks time.

Aston Villa - Villa Park - 10th of May

This particular clash could prove tricky for Liverpool. There is an emotional element to this particular fixture because of the connection that both Steven Gerrard and Phillipe Coutinho have to Aston Villa.

This current Liverpool team are very professional, so we would be surprised if they were to get distracted by the external noise.

But, stranger things have happened in football.

Wolverhampton Wanderers - Anfield - 22nd of May

Wolverhampton Wanderers are having a solid season. They sit in eighth-place on the table, which highlights that they are a decent team.

If Liverpool are at their best on the final day, they should defeat Wolves. But, if the Reds are slightly off, they could be exposed.

Conclusion

The reality is, Liverpool could win all the aforementioned fixtures and not win the title. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp made that very clear just over a week ago.

“We have to be pretty much as close to perfection," said the German, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

Klopp added: "If it’s enough - we don’t know that, City could win all their games.”

In comparison to the Reds, the Citizens do have a similar run in for the title. Pep Guardiola's side will play Wolverhampton Wanderers, Watford, Leeds United, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Aston Villa.

Only time will tell which side will claim the title. All we will say is that the Anfield faithful should simply sit back and enjoy the final phase of the season.

It is not everyday you get to see your side battle it out for the biggest trophy in English football.
