"A bit of a cross-shot" - Trent Alexander-Arnold on his assist against West Ham

Trent Alexander-Arnold is having an unbelievable season with Liverpool and in a recent interview, he talked about his assist against West Ham.

Liverpool are having a magnificent season in front of goal and one player who has helped the Reds score 71 goals so far is Alexander-Arnold.

The young Scouser has already racked up 11 assists this campaign and we're only in March. Trent is also the favourite to win the Premier League Playmaker of the Season award.

The 23-year-old got another assist against West Ham in Liverpool's 1-0 win at Anfield and speaking to Liverpool FC after the game, Trent admitted it wasn't intended to be a cross.

“I think it was a bit of a cross-shot, to be honest," said Trent.

“That’s what I’ll comment on it: a cross-shot. Just try to hit the target and anything can happen, and Sadio has anticipated it well and been able to tuck it in.

“We had a similar one against Atletico at home earlier on in the season, so maybe we need to keep doing that.”

The right-back also said that he doesn't plan on slowing down with the assists anytime soon.

“I want to contribute as much as I can, I want to get as many assists as I can and help the team win games, so I think that is part and parcel of my game,” said the 23-year-old.

“I want to be in those positions to create for the team. I’ve racked up a lot of assists so far this season and hopefully many more.

“Hopefully we’ve got a lot of games in all competitions left to play, so hopefully I can keep adding to that tally and help the team win games.”

Trent has a genuine chance to beat Thierry Henry and Kevin de Bruyne's single-season record for the most Premier League assists (20).

The Scouser already has 11 assists this season and there are still 11 games for Liverpool play.

The fact that the 23-year-old is putting these numbers up from right-back is mind-boggling. Hopefully, he can beat the record and cement himself as the best full-back in Premier League history.
