Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich is starting to heat up amid reports that both parties are interested in a potential move.

Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany tweeted yesterday that the Liverpool forward could 'imagine' himself joining the Bundesliga club this summer.

The report states that Bayern Munich manager Julian Naglesmann and the club's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, want Mane as part of their plans for next season.

Plettenberg said that there is 'movement' in talks between the Senegal international's representatives and the German champions over a potential transfer in the future.

Furthermore, the report claims that the next 3-4 weeks will be 'decisive' if Mane is to depart Anfield this summer and join Bayern Munich.

Finally, the tweet finishes off by saying that Mane's transfer fee would 'probably' be less than €50 million (£42 million).

Anfield Watch Verdict

If Liverpool aren't going to renew Mane's contract then now is the time to sell him so the club acquire a transfer fee. His contract expires at the end of the 2022-23 season, which means that he could leave Anfield on a free transfer next year.

What the Senegalese international has done for Liverpool during his career is nothing short of marvelous. However, football in the modern era is all about money and even with all the memories, the club would most likely take action if Mane refuses to sign a new deal.

Saying that, the reported €50 million transfer fee still seems very cheap for someone who is a major asset for his current side, not to mention his national team.

However, even though Mane is a major part of Jurgen Klopp's side, his numbers are replaceable and if we were to get upwards of €50 million for him, that could be used to sign a promising young forward.

Most fans would be happy for Mane to stay, but if he wants to try his hand at a new challenge, then we can't hold that against him.

The forward has won everything you can at Liverpool and for that, he'll go down as a club legend no matter what he decides to do.
