Liverpool's expiring contracts

Three of Liverpool's most important players are now free to discuss pre-contract agreements with interested overseas clubs.

Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all due to be out of contract in the summer of 2025, meaning the clock is ticking down for any new deals to be agreed.

Alexander-Arnold has been consistently linked with a free transfer to European champions Real Madrid, while Salah is once again being reportedly courted by the Saudi Pro League and Paris Saint-Germain.

Van Dijk sees his future on Merseyside but has yet to sign on the dotted line.

Liverpool transfer targets

Liverpool have been linked with several players in the January transfer window.

Positions earmarked for upgrades have been central midfield and left-back.

In midfield, Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi has been linked most prominently, while Samuele Ricci of Torino is emerging as an alternative.

At left-back, Antonee Robinson of Fulham, Milos Kerkez at Bournemouth and Rayan Ait-Nouri of Wolves have been associated with Anfield moves.

Further down the line alternatives will need to be sourced for Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold should no new contracts be agreed.
