Liverpool defender Adam Lewis is set to leave the club this summer having made just one appearance in 19 years on Merseyside.

The left-back joined the club's U6s in the early 2000s and has been kept on by the Reds for almost two decades, even signing a long-term contract back in 2019.

The former England U20 international is now 24 years old and looks almost certain to leave the club after almost two decades at Anfield.

That's according to This Is Anfield's Jack Lusby, who claims that Lewis won't be offered a contract extension when his current deal expires this summer.

Lewis has been sent out on loan five separate times at four different clubs, with initial spells at Amiens, Plymouth Argyle and Livingston. However, for the past two seasons he has been at Newport County in League Two.

He made 30 appearances for the Welsh side last season and registered two goals and six assists, with one of the latter coming in the 4-2 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup.

Newport County have already expressed their interest in signing the full-back permanently, with Lewis also keen to sign with the fourth division side.

Lewis will leave Anfield having made just one appearance in 19 years, that coming in the 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town in the 2019/20 FA Cup.

Lewis is not the only talent to have come through Liverpool's academy set for an Anfield departure in the coming months.

Sepp van den Berg is pushing for a Liverpool exit, even accusing the club of hindering his future plans by placing a significant price tag on his head amid interest from Mainz.

Nat Phillips may also be on the move following a recent loan spell at Cardiff City, while Mateusz Muslalowski - once dubbed the 'Polish Messi' - may finally leave the club on a free transfer.

While now a first-team star, academy graduate Caoimhin Kelleher may also make a summer switch after admitting that he wants to be a first-choice goalkeeper.
