Liverpool FC News: Supercomputer predicts 2024/25 Premier League finish

Opta's fabled supercomputer has predicted where Liverpool will finish in their first Premier League campaign under head coach Arne Slot. 

The Reds are just days away from the beginning of the 2024/25 Premier League season and they kick off their campaign against newly-promoted Ipswich Town on Saturday lunchtime.

A positive pre-season has left Liverpool supporters feeling excited for the year ahead, with victories over Real Betis, Arsenal, Manchester United and Sevilla offering hope.

The Reds are still yet to strengthen in the transfer market this summer but are continuing their pursuit of highly-rated midfielder Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad, with the possibility for more additions between now and the end of the window.

Regardless of incomings, things are looking bright on the red half of Merseyside.

SUPERCOMPUTER PREDICTS LIVERPOOL FINISH

Liverpool finished third in Jurgen Klopp's final campaign in charge, although they found themselves firmly in the Premier League title race for much of the season.

According to Opta's supercomputer, Liverpool fans can expect to finish in third again, with the stat experts giving them a 40.2% chance of finishing with a bronze.

Manchester City understandably remain favourites for the title but they have been given a staggering 82.2% chance of retaining their crown.

Arsenal are predicted to finish runners-up again and they are offered just a 12.2% chance of winning the league for the first time in over two decades.

Liverpool are given a 5.1% chance of a second Premier League title in Slot's debut season and a 29.6% chance of finishing second. The possibility of Liverpool finishing outside the top four is 11%.

Expectations are always high when the Reds start a new season but supporters will be willing to give Slot time to adjust following his move from Feyenoord.

Providing Liverpool are making adequate progress and playing attractive football, the Dutchman will earn the full support of the Anfield crowd regardless of where the Reds finish this term - although the higher the better!
