Liverpool have signed the son of former striker Djibril Cisse as they announced ten new first-year scholars have arrived ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Djibril Cisse represented the Reds for three years between 2004 and 2007, winning the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FA Cup during his spell on Merseyside.

The French forward was popular during his days at Anfield and Liverpool fans are likely to see more of him in the future after his son, Prince Kobe Cisse, signed a contract with the Reds on Monday.

Prince Kobe Cisse was one of ten players signing a first deal with the club and, like his father, he plays up front. The Wales youth international turned 16 just several days ago.

Writing on X about signing his first contract, the youngster stated: "Over the Moon to sign a Scholarship with my boyhood club @LFC. When I joined at the age of 4 this was the dream, now it’s Reality ! Big thanks to my mum my family and the LFC staff who supported me throughout the journey…..Hard work continues."

The teenager will join up with Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's under-18 squad for the 2024/25 season, signing a deal with Liverpool a decade after his father.

LIVERPOOL SIGN YOUNG TALENTS FOR U18S

Prince Kobe Cisse was not the only fresh face to sign a deal with the Reds, with nine other prospects putting pen to paper.

Goalkeepers DJ Bernard and Bailey Hall and defender DJ Esdaille also added their names to the under-18s squad list, as did midfielders Joe Upton, Scofield Lonmeni, Ryan Cowley and Tyler Martin.

Cisse is joined by fellow forwards Joe Bradshaw and Ollie O'Connor, with seven of the aforementioned ten having already represented the under-18s.

Liverpool have been experts in developing young talents in recent years but that was most evident last season. A host of inexperienced Reds made their mark, a number of whom helped the club win the Carabao Cup back in February.

Liverpool are also finalising deals for teenage sensations Alvin Ayman and Rio Ngumoha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea respectively.

Ngumoha is a particularly exciting coup for the Reds.
