Friday saw Liverpool continue their buildup to the massive clash with Arsenal this Sunday. It's one that could really define the Premier League season.
But there's more going on, of course. Trent Alexander-Arnold celebrated 300 appearances for Liverpool, while also getting his own signature Adidas boots. The Reds' manager search saw a couple of twists, too.

Alexander-Arnold to get signature boots

Footy Headlines have revealed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be getting his very own signature Adidas Predator boots. The Liverpool right-back signed with Adidas last November as one of the faces of their Predator range.
He's since been wearing them in matches and recently debuted what FH assumed was a 'custom colourway' just for him. It now turns out that this colourway will be released to the public, however.
The new Adidas Predator 24 'TAA' boots are white and red and bring back the iconic foldover tongue, though only in the version with laces. They're to be released next month in what's described as a 'limited quantity'.

Amorim instructs agent
Sporting boss Ruben Amorim has instructed his agent over a potential £17m approach from Liverpool. The Reds need a new manager.

Sporting manager Ruben Amorim was one of the first names thrown into the mix when Jurgen Klopp announced he was stepping down as Liverpool boss. Along with Xabi Alonso and Roberto De Zerbi, Amorim is one of the most likely candidates to take over.
However, there is a long, long way to go before that happens. Record reports that there has been absolutely no approach whatsoever from Liverpool - nothing to suggest they're about to make Amorim an offer.
On top of that, the Sporting boss has told his agent to ignore any approaches before the season is done. He's focused on his current team and Amorim doesn't want any distractions.

Thiago looking sharp
Liverpool have put out new training footage of Thiago - and he looks razor-sharp. Fans are starting to dream.

Can Liverpool fans start getting excited about Thiago again? It's a dangerous thing to do but the Reds sparked some excitement as they posted a video of the Spaniard training on Friday.
Thiago hasn't played this season, with a hip problem keeping him on the sidelines. It could really have been a disaster for Liverpool, who overhauled their entire midfield in the summer.
Thiago was supposed to be the experienced, veteran presence in there. The one who knew exactly how Liverpool want to play and boasts the ability to control games.
Fortunately, Liverpool's midfielders have all stepped up in Thiago's absence. The Reds have thrived all season, sitting at the top of the Premier League, reaching the Carabao Cup final and competing across four competitions.

Gunners without Partey after all
The Gunners will be without Thomas Partey, the midfielder probably the most significant absentee for Arteta's side.

He hasn't featured since October and was missing from the Ghana squad for the Africa Cup of Nations. Partey returned to training recently but has suffered a setback on his road to recovery and will be absent for Liverpool's visit.
"‘I’m not a doctor but I can try to explain. He felt something again in a very similar area and he wasn’t able to train for the last few days," said Arteta in his pre-match press conference.

Players possibly unhappy
It was only a week to the day that Jurgen Klopp announced he would be leaving the Reds at the end of the season, bringing a sensational Anfield career to an unexpected end.

The club put out an interview with the 56-year-old on social media without warning that explained Klopp's decision to step down, with the announcement coming as an enormous surprise to the football world.
Klopp confirmed that he had communicated his decision to leave to the club's hierarchy back in November 2023, but the Liverpool first-team players were not told until last Friday, shortly before the official announcement.
According to Ornstein, some of the club's players were not too happy with the decision to give them such short notice of Klopp's departure, especially given how long the club had known about the situation.
