Jurgen Klopp's penultimate game in charge of Liverpool ultimately ended in disappointment as the Reds threw away a two-goal lead in a 3-3 draw with Aston Villa. 

Liverpool were a goal ahead at the break after an Emiliano Martinez own goal and a Cody Gakpo effort cancelled out Youri Tielemans' strike.

The Reds appeared to be on course for back-to-back wins after Jarell Quansah netted his first Premier League goal, but efforts in the 85th and 88th minute from Jhon Duran saw Liverpool surrender victory.

TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD EYED BY REAL MADRID

Real Madrid 'love' Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold and are keeping a close eye on his contract situation, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. 

The right-back's contract expires in the summer of 2025 and talks over an extension are yet to make a breakthrough, leading to speculation that the 25-year-old could join his best friend Jude Bellingham in Madrid.

While Alexander-Arnold's strong Liverpool connection makes a move look unlikely on paper, Real Madrid are circling in case he doesn't sign a new deal this summer.

LIVERPOOL TO TRIGGER MOHAMMED KUDUS RELEASE CLAUSE

Liverpool are set to trigger Mohammed Kudus' reported £85m release clause this summer, according to one report. 

The Reds were linked with the Ghanaian during his Ajax days and their interest remains according to several sources. There have been claims that he boasts an £85m release clause in his West Ham deal.

Liverpool are expected to target wide forwards this summer but such an enormous fee may put off the Reds, who splashed a similar sum on Darwin Nunez - if add-ons are included - in 2022.

ANTHONY GORDON DROPS HUGE LIVERPOOL HINT

Anthony Gordon is another wide attacker that has been surprisingly linked with Liverpool in recent days and the former Everton man has admitted that Steven Gerrard was his idol growing up. 

An ambitious £100m move for the youngster has been touted, although the prospect of Liverpool signing a former Toffee may not go down well on either side of Stanley Park.

However, there can be no denying the forward's talent, and he grew up in admiration of one of Liverpool's all-time legends Gerrard having previously been on the Reds' books himself.

LIVERPOOL TO RELEASE 'POLISH MESSI'

Liverpool are set to release youngster Mateusz Musialowski this summer despite him making his first-team debut back in March. 

The forward, who was dubbed the 'Polish Messi' at a young age, was tipped for big things on Merseyside, but has failed to break into the senior squad too often.

With his contract expiring in July this year, Liverpool are unlikely to hand him a new deal.
