The Portuguese international heaped praise on Liverpool for their 'different rivalry' after criticising Arsenal's defensive approach.

Asked to compare the past couple of season’s worth of title challenges from Arsenal compared to the previous half-decade of rivalry with Liverpool, Silva said: "The difference? I don't know. Maybe that Liverpool have already won a Premier League, Arsenal haven't. That Liverpool have won a Champions League, Arsenal haven't.

"Liverpool always faced us face to face to try to win the games."

The comments followed a tirade by Silva against the style of Arsenal’s play in the stalemate at the Etihad. The Portuguese midfielder declared that: “There was only one team that came to play football”.

In newly released footage for Liverpool's under-18s, the club's hot new prospect bagged an assist in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Leeds United.

The winger carries the ball all the way to the Leeds box, cuts inside two defenders, and unleashes a shot at goal. It was deflected for a corner - but Ngumoha wasn't done.

The corner was played short to the Reds' no.15, who stood up his defender and whipped a perfect cross to the back post which couldn't have been more on the money.

Louis Enahoro-Marcus was there to head home for 1-1, towering above his marker. A brilliant piece of football from Liverpool and Ngumoha, in particular.

The Scouser's current deal expires in June and he's yet to close in on a new one. Recent comments of his were worrying, too, as Alexander-Arnold talked about wanting trophies over anything else.

But Alexander-Arnold admits he does still hold onto a Liverpool goal. He wants to be captain one day - but it's something that isn't in his hands.

“I have always said I want to captain the club," he said, per the Athletic. "That is an aim of mine and a goal of mine, whether that happens is out of my hands, to be honest.”

After being substituted off after 15 minutes of Manchester City's clash against Arsenal yesterday, it is now being reported that the defensive midfielder has injured his ACL.

The injury comes just a week after Rodri followed in Alisson's footsteps to call out the number of games on the footballing calendar this year.

A new report from FIFPRO has called for a reduction in matches and for greater concern for player welfare, but with UEFA and FIFA planning to extend their current tournament formats without player consultation, we are likely to see more and more injuries as the months go by.

Liverpool have been dealt a major transfer boon regarding a potential key target this January.

A report emerged last week that Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez was viewed incredibly favorably by the club, least of all because he was signed for the south coast club by now-Liverpool Director of Football, Richard Hughes.

However, the Redmen were expected to face stiff competition from both Chelsea and Manchester United for the Hungarian’s signature.

But Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that Chelsea are no longer pursuing the full-back, saying: "No contacts are taking place with Chelsea now, from what I’m told – also because Marc Cucurella and Renato Veiga are doing very well."
