'Think about it': Mo Salah receives Hollywood invite from club chairman

One Liverpool star received an invite to play for a League One side in an interview with Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds. We don't expect Mohamed Salah to take the offer.

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds gave an interview to the Premier League as part of their ongoing press tour this week. And would you know it, Mohamed Salah came up.

Jackman was essentially asked for his favourite player and said the Liverpool star. He then read a (presumably AI-generated) comparison between himself and Salah before making it clear he thought highly of the Egyptian.

"Mo Salah, I mean to even be in the same sentence as you is incredibly cool. And I went to see you, by the way, while we were filming and you were playing against Crystal Palace.

"And I think you're awesome and I think you're amazing and please, please, please respond to my DM's."

Reynolds then jumped in. The Canadian has ties to football, of course, as one of the owners of Wrexham. He quickly made a pitch to Salah on behalf of his club.

"Ryan Reynolds, co-chairman of Wrexham AFC," he said. "Mo, you would be warmly embraced at the Racecourse Ground in North Wales."

Jackman then joked that Salah wouldn't be guaranteed 90 minutes there, but 'probably like 20'.

"All we need is five. Think about it," finished Reynolds.

Mo Salah gets tongue-in-cheek Wrexham invite

Salah does only have one year left on his contract, so clubs will be lining up to sign him if Liverpool can't tie him down with a new one. We're not sure Wrexham will have the pull to be one of those clubs, however.

Their rise up the football pyramid has been rapid - but we're not sure they'll be what Salah is looking for to wrap up his career.
