Liverpool FC News: Date confirmed for rescheduled Everton clash after FA Cup exit

Liverpool's fixture list looks significantly clearer after last Sunday's disappointing defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup - but they now face a tough run of away games after the rearranged date for their fixture with Everton was confirmed.

Jurgen Klopp's side lost 4-3 at Old Trafford in the FA Cup quarter-final at the weekend, seeing them drop out of the competition having beaten Arsenal, Norwich City and Southampton en route to the final eight.

That means that Liverpool's hopes of winning a quadruple are over, although they can still win a trio of trophies at the end of the season having already lifted the Carabao Cup.

Klopp's final game with the Reds won't come in this year's FA Cup final at Wembley, but there is still the Premier League and Europa League to play for this year.

However, Sunday's defeat has freed up space in Liverpool's calendar. The Reds would have been drawn against Championship Coventry City had they progressed, with the semi-final fixture taking place on the weekend of 20 April.

Now out of the competition, Liverpool will take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on that weekend, with their Merseyside derby outing coming soon after.

The Reds were meant to play the Toffees during the weekend that has just passed, but the fixture was postponed due to Liverpool's involvement in the FA Cup.

WHEN WILL LIVERPOOL PLAY EVERTON?

Liverpool's clash with Everton at Goodison Park will take place on Wednesday, April 24 - slap bang in the middle of a tough run of away fixtures for the Reds.

In the two-week period between Thursday 18 April and Thursday 2 May, Liverpool could now face a run of five consecutive away games.

That begins with the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final against Atalanta on 18 April, followed by a trip to Craven Cottage the following weekend.

That fixture in London is scheduled for Sunday 21 April, having been moved from Saturday as a result of the Reds' European involvement.

Klopp's men are already set to go to West Ham the following Saturday (27 April), but after further rescheduling, they now face the trip across Stanley Park to take on Everton on the Wednesday beforehand.

Should Liverpool progress to the Europa League semi finals, the first leg against Benfica or Marseille will then take place away from home on 2 May, concluding a tricky run on the road.

After that, Klopp's Reds will face just one more game away from home: at Villa Park, currently set for 11 May.

Regardless, Liverpool will have a tight and congested fixture list to end Klopp's final season at Anfield.
