New Liverpool boss Arne Slot has been spotted on Merseyside for the first time following his recently announced move to Anfield.

The 45-year-old will be Liverpool's manager next season, taking over from the legendary Jurgen Klopp, and he has now arrived in England.

Liverpool agreed a compensation package with Feyenoord of approximately £9.4m for his services after the talented coach claimed an Eredivisie title and KNVB Cup during his spell in Rotterdam.

The Eredivisie season only finished last Sunday, with Feyenoord beating Excelsior 4-0 in Slot's final match in charge of the club, but the new Liverpool boss has already rocked up on Merseyside.

ARNE SLOT SPOTTED IN ENGLAND

Slot was spotted dining at the luxurious Moor Hall Restaurant in Aughton, just ten miles from Liverpool and close to his new home in Formby - which is actually his predecessor Klopp's old residence.

A picture of Slot alongside head chef Mark Birchall was put out on the restaurant's official Instagram page. Posted as a story on the platform, the image was accompanied by the caption: "It was great to welcome Arne Slot to Moor Hall Restaurant yesterday."

Slot will have plenty of time to get to know the city of Liverpool and the surrounding area over the next month or so before Liverpool's players return for pre-season in July.

However, Slot won't have all his squad available to him during the start of pre-season, with a whole host of Reds travelling with their countries to take part in either Euro 2024 or this year's Copa America.

Both tournaments start in mid-June and run until the 14 July, with players needing adequate rest should they make it deep into the competition.

With Slot currently on Merseyside, it may not be too long until the club release their first interview with the man tasked with replacing Klopp for the 2024/25 campaign.
