Arne Slot reveals the one period he HASN'T enjoyed as Liverpool boss

Arne Slot says there’s been one period as Liverpool boss that wasn’t good enough. The Dutchman is striving for perfection.

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has enjoyed a remarkable start to his time at Anfield. Slot has overseen three wins from three, without conceding a goal, and that included a 3-0 demolition of Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Really, it couldn't have gone much better.

But it hasn't quite been perfect. Slot made that clear in his pre-match notes ahead of Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest on Saturday, pointing out that one half this season wasn't good enough.

“As a squad and as a staff we have to be prepared for what is coming," he said, per Liverpoolfc.com. "Today we have the Premier League, in midweek we will play in the Champions League, then we have Premier League again and then it is Carabao Cup. This is all within the space of 11 days so it is a big challenge but also an exciting one.

“The big positive is that we enter into this period having started the season well. Aside from the first half against Ipswich Town on the opening day, our football has been good and the rewards we have had have been deserved."

Slot wasn't happy with Ipswich half

Of course, everyone could see that the first half of the opening game wasn't good enough. Liverpool were slow, unable to control Ipswich and forced Slot into a half-time change.

That change was swapping Jarell Quansah for Ibrahima Konaté, with Slot making it clear that he wanted the latter's ability to win duels. It was an inspired change, with Liverpool dominating the second half and winning the match.

And things have been flying ever since, really. Liverpool have controlled games consistently and Slot will be thrilled with that.

There's definitely room for improvement but you can't ask for much more than just one poor half out of six to start your era.
