Jurgen Klopp has shared his opinion on Arne Slot’s Liverpool after the Dutchman took over from him at Anfield this summer.

Jurgen Klopp has given an interview to ESPN Netherlands where, unsurprisingly, the subject of Arne Slot came up. The two will forever be compared after the Dutchman replaced Klopp in the Liverpool hotseat this summer.

Klopp hasn't talked all that much about Slot, other than saying he thought it was a great appointment a few months ago. Now, though, he's had the chance to see some of the changes under the new boss - and he's shared his opinion on the 'new' Liverpool team.

"I like his football a lot - played it with, with [Feyenoord], so that's really good," said Klopp. "I saw the Sevilla game, the preseason friendly at Anfield - big parts of it were really good. And the league game [against Ipswich Town], the second half was obviously really good.

"But it's not important that I like it, you can see he is a very good coach and the team, I know now better than most, is a really good squad, is a really good team. So it'll work out really well."

Jurgen Klopp impressed by Arne Slot

Klopp isn't the type to get involved and comment about a successor - he's always given the impression that he doesn't want to put more pressure on Slot by talking. These comments, though, are a wonderful sign that the new head coach is on the right path.

The win over Ipswich wasn't exactly perfect but as Klopp says, the second half looked very encouraging. Now he just needs to get that kind of performance flowing over 90 minutes.

All in all, things are looking and sounding positive. Klopp certainly appears to think so - and there's really no better man to judge things.
