We've asked Liverpool fans for their pick of the best Michael Edwards signing in his time as sporting director. Here's how you voted.
There's plenty of talk right now that Liverpool want to bring Michael Edwards back to the club. Edwards was enormously successful as sporting director from 2016 to 2022, overseeing a transformative period for the club.
He's a man with very few failures as sporting director, in truth. Just about every signing worked out - especially the big ones. But which was the greatest?

We asked fans on X/Twitter for their pick and over 8,000 responded. The choices: Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, or 'Other'.
It was a close one, as you'd imagine, but just over half of you picked Van Dijk as the greatest signing Edwards oversaw.
Liverpool signed the Dutchman at a world-record fee for a defender back in January 2018. That came after a failed pursuit the previous summer as the Reds were caught having talked with Van Dijk before receiving permission from Southampton.
But they didn't panic, nor did they sign an alternative. Instead, Liverpool waited and secured a mid-season arrival. And what an arrival - they were Champions League finalists by the end of the campaign, won it the next year, and then claimed the Premier League title the year after that.
All of that while also narrowly finishing second to Lionel Messi in the 2019 Ballon d'Or race and winning PFA Player of the Year.
Van Dijk will go down as one of the greatest signings in Liverpool's history and one of the best defenders we've ever seen in English football. Yes, it took a world-record fee but the Reds (and Edwards) were the only ones willing to pay it.
Don't forget that at the time, many claimed it was far too much money and that Van Dijk wasn't good enough to have that kind of impact. In hindsight, it was an absolute bargain.
And for most, Edwards' greatest Liverpool signing.
