Liverpool transfers: Fabio Carvalho long-term future prospects revealed

Liverpool do not want Fabio Carvalho to leave the club permanently even though he was let go on loan last season.

There is a big chance in pre-season for Carvalho to stake a claim in the first-team squad after failing to do so under Jurgen Klopp in two seasons.

A spot could open up for Carvalho due to how Arne Slot sets his team up but it is on him to grasp the chance with both hands on the USA pre-season tour.

According to Football Insider, the club are certainly not willing to let him leave for the long term even if he doesn’t perform in pre-season.

CLUBS QUEUING UP FOR CARVALHO

At the start of last season, the thought process was a loan in a top-five European League would be ideal for Carvalho’s progress hence why he joined RB Leipzig.

That deal didn’t go to plan though as he only played 360 minutes for them in 15 appearances so subsequently he joined Hull City for the second half of the season.

Carvalho regained his spark in the Championship scoring nine goals in 20 appearances.

A loan of similar ilk could be on the cards as several clubs from England and across Europe are interested according to the report.

If he does want a long-term future at Liverpool a loan back to a top division should be the case but that might not need to happen if the 21-year-old shows what he is capable of in the early stages of the Slot era.

He will be in limbo though as any deal that does go through will be later on in the window which is when a lot of the transfer business is set to be conducted by Slot and Richard Hughes.

Therefore even if Carvalho does perform in the friendly games that may just help him get a better loan deal rather than a spot in the first-team.
