Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed how many goals and assists he wants to get at Liverpool by the end of this season.

The Hungarian has come under criticism recently by Arne Slot for not scoring enough goals.

He was left frustrated over the weekend, having missed a sitter against Wolverhampton that could have put his side into a comfortable lead.

Having arrived with high hopes, Szoboszlai is yet to fulfil the exciting promise he showed early on in his Liverpool career.

Now tasked with playing in the no.10 role, it's clear he needs to be more involved when it comes to scoring goals and creating chances.

Speaking on Hungarian TV at the weekend, he revealed just how many goals and assists he wants to finish this season with.

Dominik Szoboszlai sets bold goals and assists target

The 23-year-old was speaking to former Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan on Spiler TV in the build-up to the Reds' game against Wolves.

Bogdan quizzed Szoboszlai about how many goals and assists he has set as his target for the season playing in the more advanced no.10 role, with the goalkeeper admitting he saw him getting a double-double 10 goals and 10 assists.

"Yes, I set the bar even higher. I told myself 25. It doesn't matter how many goals and assists specifically, I just want 25 all together. But if it will be only 20, I will sign the paper right now," Szoboszlai said.

That's an ambitious target set for himself by Liverpool's no.8. But it's one he is absolutely capable of. Szoboszlai has the skill-set to score more goals and to provide more assists for his teammates.

He has been able to reach similar figures while playing in a more advanced role at RB Leipzig. He's yet to quick on this season but his one goal and two assists in seven matches is not a bad start so far.
