£35m defender WANTED by Liverpool could now end up as Cristiano Ronaldo's teammate
Liverpool have been interested in a player who is now set to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr before the transfer window shots close.
One of the priorities for Liverpool this summer will have been to add a centre-back to Arne Slot's options in the squad.
With Joel Matip leaving and Joe Gomez open to a move away, it has been a pragmatic decision taken on by the club to pursue options in the market.
However, with just two days left until the window shuts close, Liverpool are now unlikely to bring in a centre-back and one of the club's targets could be moving to Al Nassr instead.

Mohamed Simakan set to become teammates with Cristiano Ronaldo
The player who has been on Liverpool's radar is Mohamed Simakan. The defender was reported to still be of interest to Liverpool less than a week ago by German reporter Philip Hinze, who covers RB Leipzig.
Hinze claimed there were no concrete approaches for Simakan, but that Liverpool were interested in the French defender.
Now though, in the latest developments, it seems Simakan will be moving to Saudi Arabia instead. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr have opened talks to sign the RB Leipzig defender.

Whether Simakan accepts the offer remains to be seen. He has a price tag of £35m, which is quite a hefty one for Al Nassr to pay.
Liverpool could also pursue their interest with there still being time to make a move until the window shuts close.
