Liverpool could reportedly make a move for an Atletico Madrid forward valued at €80m
Liverpool are interested in signing Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix, according to Fichajes, as cited by The Anfield Buzz's Twitter account.
The report states that the Reds could make a move for the 21-year-old. However, Felix's services will not come cheap.
The Portugal international possesses a current market value of €80 million. Felix's contract expires in June 2026, so a free transfer is off the table.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Felix is a player that we do like the look of. The forward has scored 19 goals and registered nine assists in 81 appearances for Atletico Madrid's first-team.
Felix also averaged a WhoScored player rating of 7.28 across the 2020-21 Champions League campaign.
The aforementioned figures highlight that the Portugal international is a bright young talent. Therefore, we would love to see the club sign Felix.
However, it was reported back in April that the pandemic had impacted Liverpool Football Club from a financial point of view.
With that being the case, we are unsure if the Reds have the money to purchase Felix. Besides, Atletico Madrid may have no interest in selling the youngster.
