Liverpool's exciting young star has been catching the eye while on loan at Middlesbrough.

Ben Doak is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects not just in Scottish football but at Liverpool as well.

Fast and direct, he's got the ability to beat defenders with ease and that attribute can take him far in the game as a winger.

He is obviously not the finished article by any stretch of the imagination just yet, but at 18 years old that is to be expected.

He is still very much honing his craft as a player and that is why he was sent out on loan to Middlesbrough this season.

BBC pundit raves about Liverpool's Ben Doak

Doak scored on his first start for Middlesbrough against Stoke City last weekend and earned another start away to West Brom on Tuesday night.

The exciting teenager winger didn't take long to make a mark in this game either, helping his side to a 1-0 victory away from home.

Doak proved a constant nuisance and attracted the attention of West Brom legend, Tony Brown, during the match.

“That Ben Doak, on loan from Liverpool, looks a serious player,” the pundit told BBC Radio WM.

“Look out for that little lollipop trick he does, one foot over the other and then he crosses. He is one to look out for, one to watch, recently called up to the Scotland squad too.”

Earlier on in the game, Doak was on the end of a horrible challenge but managed to go through the game unscathed, playing 81 minutes in total.

It looks like the more he is playing, the more he is growing in confidence, and that's great news for the Reds.

Doak has endured his fair share of injury problems last season, but he is now getting his career back on track and showing why the sky is the limit when it comes to his potential.
