Liverpool are reportedly looking to sign La Liga forward valued at £60 million

Liverpool are interested in signing Real Sociedad forward Alexander Isak, according to the Mirror, as cited by LFC Transfer Room's Twitter account.

The report states that the Reds are prepared to spend £60 million (transfer fee) to secure the 22-year-old's services.

The story further adds that both Arsenal and Manchester United are also keeping an eye on Isak.

The Sweden international's contract does not expire until June 2026, so a free transfer is not possible for quite some time.

Isak is a talented player. The striker has scored 41 goals and registered eight assists in 121 appearances for Real Sociedad.

Isak has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 6.75 across the 2021-22 La Liga campaign.

Back in November 2021, the Sweden international made it clear that he would like to play in the Premier League one day.

Speaking to The Independent, Isak said: "I am in a good place at the moment, I am very happy, but one day it would be nice to play in England as well.

"They have six or seven of the biggest clubs in the world, it is a very high level, and of course one day it would be an alternative. Every player wants to be the best version of themselves and reach the highest possible level.

"I have expectations for myself that I’m trying to fulfill, so we’ll see where the journey takes me in future."

But, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp does possess a number of key forwards at his disposal (Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

Unless one of aforementioned names leaves the Reds in the summer, we don't see the club signing Isak.

Liverpool don't need to sign a striker at this current moment. The Reds would be better off saving their money and spending it in a time of need.
