Liverpool are absolutely smashing the competition in creativity this season

Liverpool are tearing up the Premier League in created chances this season. That's according to data from Whoscored.

Liverpool might be the most electric team in the Premier League right now. Jurgen Klopp has built an incredible attack with pace, energy, and drive - in what turned out to be his final forward line for the Reds.

Previously, Klopp's attacks had been all about the front three and the full-backs. Now, though, we're seeing the midfield getting more and more involved. Dominik Szoboszlai has been a revelation, while Curtis Jones is getting more and more involved. Ryan Gravenberch popped up with a goal at the weekend, too.

It's all come together to build the most creative side in the Premier League - and by some way.

Whoscored's data says Liverpool have created 222 chances from open play this season. Manchester City and Arsenal are joint-second on 209, followed by Tottenham Hotspur on 203, Brighton on 192 and Aston Villa on 186.

What stands out here isn't just that the Reds are first but that the gap between them and second is bigger than any subsequent gap. To have created 13 more chances is remarkable - City and Arsenal are clear of Spurs by just six, who are clear of Brighton by nine, who clear Villa by six.

Liverpool boast an incredible machine right now, one that creates chances almost at will.

Not that this is exactly a surprise. The Reds have scored the second most goals and boast the highest combined xG in the Premier League - that's despite Newcastle United, in second, having played a game more.

Liverpool are also the only team to have four players inside the top 25 for expected assisted goals this season, including Mohamed Salah who tops the lot in that stat. It's all come together to build a team that creates from anywhere.

And if it continues that way, there's no reason Liverpool can't mount a serious title challenge all season long.
