Robertson's nightmare performance

Scotland suffered a damaging defeat to the hands of Poland last night at Hampden Park. Poland raced into a 2-0 lead at half-time before Scotland pulled it back to 2-2. However, a last-minute penalty won it for Poland, breaking Tartan Army hearts.

One player that came under fire was left-back Andy Robertson. Robbo was responsible for giving away the first penalty, which was dispatched by Robert Lewandowski. It was a needless challenge which seemed to affect him for the rest of the game.

Andy received strong backlash, both from fans and the media.

The Scotsman completed a player ratings for the match last night. Liverpool's number 26 received a very mediocre score of 5/10. The Scotsman explained this rating stating he ‘had some nice touches early on, but his foul for the penalty was needless and he struggled to recover from that mistake for the majority of the second period.’

Robertson also received criticism online from Scotland fans, with one stating he would “like to see some of the guaranteed starters dropped” , in reference to Andy and some other players. He also stated Robbo is "getting worse" with each game he plays for Scotland. Harsh comments indeed.

One positive Liverpool can take from this game is the full debut of loanee Ben Doak. This was a momentous occasion for the youngster who will gain confidence from this appearance.

Despite a poor showing from the Reds left-back, fans will be hoping he can shake off this disappointment and return to the club in fine form.
