'FANTASTIC' Liverpool player now has a golden chance against AC Milan to prove doubters WRONG
One 'fantastic' Liverpool player will have a golden opportunity to prove his doubters wrong against AC Milan.
It's back to the drawing board for Arne Slot. After a brilliant start to the campaign, the Liverpool head coach faced his first setback against Nottingham Forest last weekend.
Now the Dutchman will be looking for a quick response from his side and he will get the perfect opportunity to bounce back at the San Siro against AC Milan.
The Reds have only ever played once against the Italian giants in the hallowed stadium and that saw Liverpool take all three points thanks to a Divock Origi goal in the Champions League group-stages during the 2021/22 season.
Now there will be another player who will be hoping to become the hero in this game.

Why Darwin Nunez has a golden opportunity against AC Milan
Slot will be making changes in this game. With many of his key players having played three full 90 minutes of football in the space of seven days, his starters against Forest will need a rest.
This could hand Nunez his first start of the season. The Uruguayan forward has so far been exiled from the starting line-up.
But against AC Milan at the San Siro, Nunez could finally get a golden chance to prove his doubters wrong.
There are a lot of doubts about Nunez at the moment. It's clear Slot favours the more refined and clinical Jota.
However, AC Milan is an opportunity for the 25-year-old to show he still has a future at the club.
He will be taking on a side, who despite their 4-0 win at the weekend, have been in shaky form. And he will be playing in a competition where he has scored 10 goals in 18 appearances so far.
Nunez has a great record in European football. He's got the energy and the pressing ability to fit into Slot's style of football.
He just needs more patience in front of goal and a little bit of confidence. Scoring at the San Siro against AC Milan could definitely give him both.
Why Ian Rush has backed Darwin Nunez to succeed.
It's why even Ian Rush, Liverpool's most legendary forward, has backed him to succeed.
Speaking via Irish News back in July, Rush waxed lyrical about the player's potential and described his summer as 'fantastic.'
“Hopefully Nunez is Liverpool’s number nine, he is a great player,” Rush said. “He’s had chances he’s missed but he’s only young and he is getting confident now. At the end of the day, he has to show the new manager he is capable.
“I know he will miss America [tour] but when the season starts he will be looking to impress the manager,” adds the former striker. “Hopefully he can get the confidence to say to the manager ‘Play me week in, week out’ as I am sure Slot will be saying ‘I want you as my number one (choice)’.
“He’s got everything else, all he needs now is (to be) converting chances. He’s had a fantastic summer. That breeds confidence. Sometimes when you go back to your country you do get more confident.”
