Liverpool 3-0 Southampton: Player Ratings

© IMAGO

Here are our player ratings as Liverpool beat Southampton 3-0 at Anfield in the FA Cup. The Reds' kids are something special.

Caoimhin Kelleher: 8

Back-to-back games where he's saved Liverpool. How he's keeping clean sheets in games like this is anyone's guess.

Connor Bradley: 7

Up against pace but handled it pretty well. Not his best game but then his standards for that are incredibly high.

Jarell Quansah: 9

Pretty much perfect. His passing was incredible at times. Just gets better and better.

Virgil van Dijk: 8

An incredibly difficult task for the captain - the most makeshift midfield in front of him and he played 120 minutes the other night. A great 45.

Kostas Tsimikas: 8

A solid game in his first start for an age. As good a squad player as you could possibly hope for.

Joe Gomez: 8

A difficult one to rate as Gomez had a very difficult opening 20. Once he clicked into a brand new role, though, he was brilliant and much-needed.

James McConnell: 7

Struggled at the start but settled into the game very well. Going to be an incredibly useful player.

Bobby Clark: 9

Got one assist but should have had more, really. A huge talent on the ball and one who could be a regular by next season.

Harvey Elliott: 9

Made the second goal and really just made things happen all night. He's proven invaluable through this injury crisis - what a talent.

Cody Gakpo: 6

Genuinely the worst on the pitch for Liverpool and he just couldn't find his feet in front of goal.

Lewis Koumas: 8

Incredible confidence from a debutant and he got the priceless opener for Liverpool. We'll see more of Koumas - he's just got that cutting edge.

Subs

Ibrahima Konaté: 8

Solid as it gets once he came on. The fact he can come on for Van Dijk and the quality doesn't drop is a sign he's a remarkable player.

Jayden Danns: 10

Not sure you can give under a 10 for an 18-year-old coming on for his third-ever appearance and scoring twice for Liverpool against a good Southampton side. He really does look special.

Alexis Mac Allister: 7

Didn't really do all that much once he was on but the Argentine helped see the game out well.

Trey Nyoni: 7

A very impressive debut and we'll all want to see more.

Kaide Gordon: N/A
