Federico Chiesa continued his individual training programme by joining Liverpool's under 21s for a session.

Liverpool’s first team is currently not in training, with the majority of Slot’s players away on international duty.

The Reds’ new No.14, who arrived from Juventus last week, remained with the club during the international break and the Italy forward’s preparations included a workout with Barry Lewtas’ squad.

Here are three things we learned from the video...

1) Chiesa's Speed and Sharpness

The attacker didn't feature for Juventus in Serie A prior to his £12.5m switch to Anfield late last month but was still selected by Italy coach Luciano Spalletti as a non-playing member of the squad, which outlines his importance and influence around the Italian camp.

Instead, it was decided that Chiesa would benefit more from remaining in situ on Merseyside as he and his wife, Lucia, try to get settled into their new surroundings off the field while the forward gets adjusted to his new workplace on it.

Chiesa looked sharp and fast during the session, showcasing his trademark pace and movement during drills, a key aspect Liverpool will look to capitalise on.

He also revealed some exceptional finishing, which will be key if he's set to be Mohamed Salah's understudy.

2) Rio Ngumoha's first session

Youngster Rio Ngumoha also joined in with the session less that 24 hours after his move to Anfield was confirmed.

Liverpool plans to integrate him into Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's under 18s group for the upcoming season, but seemed to be more than comfortable in Lewtas' side.

Ngumoha caught attention with his quick footwork and calm under pressure, showing why he’s a prospect to watch.

3) Building relationships key to success

The involvement of senior players with the U21 squad defines Liverpool's set up and helps bridge the gap between youth and first-team football, fostering unity and shared learning experiences.

Chiesa’s interaction with younger players emphasised the importance of youth development - witnessing him in training and receiving his advice will encourage the next generation.
