There has been plenty of news doing the rounds in relation to Liverpool Football Club recently.

With that being the case, we thought that we would take a look at some of those stories.

Inter Milan

Liverpool will face Inter Milan in the last-16 of the Champions League. The first leg will take place at the San Siro tonight.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he has a full squad to pick from, which certainly aids Liverpool's chances of claiming a result.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the German said the following during his press conference: "It's a good situation to have [no injuries], but it is much more important how we are playing over who is playing. We need options for different situations and different problems.”

Liverpool predicted XI (4-3-3): Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Andy Robertson, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Harvey Elliott, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah.

Kick-off: 8pm GMT

TV: BT Sport 2

The second leg will take place at Anfield on the 8th of March.

James Milner contract situation

Klopp has asked the club to offer midfielder James Milner a one-year contract, according to Sky Sports, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

Talks between the club and the Englishman's representatives are yet to take place.

Milner's current deal expires at the conclusion of the current season. We would like to see the club keep the 36-year-old around for another season, as he does provide depth and experience.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's statement of intent

Trent Alexander-Arnold believes that Liverpool can win the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup this season.

The Reds are in the League Cup final. Klopp's side will face Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on the 27th of February.

“To be in all four fronts is good for us. Our focus is on making sure we are still in all four competitions for as long as we can go," Alexander-Arnold said during his recent press conference, as quoted by the Irish Examiner.

“Looking at it now there is only the league that is not really in our hands, all the other cup competitions we are in we believe we can win them or beat everyone on our day if we get it right.

“So the only one is the league — and anything can happen there. It is important for us to keep winning games.

“I don’t think nine points gap is much pressure but we need to keep as much pressure on as we can, make sure we win the game in hand and take it to six.

“There is not much in our hands but anything can happen in this league so make sure we are in a position to pounce if they slip.

“The other three competitions we believe we are able to win them.”

We do agree with Alexander-Arnold that Liverpool have a serious chance of winning the aforementioned trophies.

The reality is, this Reds side has won two of the biggest trophies in club football - the Champions League and Premier League. The experience you gain from winning silverware is invaluable. Teams take confidence from winning trophies.

Fabio Carvalho deal remains alive

Liverpool are set to sign Fulham midfielder Fabio Carvalho, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Reds had reportedly agreed an £8 million transfer fee with Fulham for the 19-year-old's services.

However, Carvalho was going to be loaned back to Fulham for the remainder of the season. But, the clubs were unable to complete the necessary paperwork before the deadline.

Despite that being the case, Romano exclusively told Anfield Watch that Carvalho will be a Liverpool player in the near future.

Romano wrote: "In the next few days, a further meeting is scheduled with all the parties to find a solution: the agreement on personal terms with Carvalho is ready, Liverpool would like to confirm it as soon as possible and to also complete the agreement with Fulham for compensation, given that Fabio would be available as a free agent in the summer."

Carvalho is a talented footballer. The youngster has scored seven goals and registered five assists in 20 Championship appearances this season.

The aforementioned figures highlight that Carvalho can play. Therefore, hopefully this deal gets done sooner rather than later.
