"Klopp is feeling the pressure" - Former Man United and Everton man on the German

Former Manchester United and Everton player Andrei Kanchelskis believes that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is feeling the pressure in the early stages of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.

The Reds have started the new season slowly. Liverpool have only secured two points from a possible six.

With that being the case, Kanchelskis believes Klopp is not his normal self.

“Klopp is feeling the pressure, but it’s normal because Liverpool usually start very well, now they are being criticised for starting poorly,” he told OLBG, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“It’s like Manchester United, they’re big teams who have not started well and get a lot of criticism. I understand Klopp because he is used to winning titles, the Champions League, now everybody is criticising Liverpool which is why he was aggressive to journalists, like previous Manchester United managers have been.

“Liverpool have started badly, but so have United. These are special games (Liverpool vs United next Monday) and form does not matter. This is important for both teams, but Liverpool are psychologically better at the moment because United have really struggled in their two games. The two draws might not matter to Liverpool as much because they still have great attacking players.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Managing Liverpool is not an easy job. So many people across the world want the club to succeed. It would only be normal if the manager is feeling the heat.

But, Klopp has no reason to panic. The German has won six major trophies and the Community Shield during his time at Anfield.

Things can turn around pretty quickly. Hopefully Liverpool can defeat Manchester United at Old Trafford next Monday.

The Reds secured a 5-0 victory over the Red Devils away from home last season. Only time will tell if history is to repeat itself.
