Kevin De Bruyne has said that Virgil van Dijk would get into his ideal five-a-side team ahead of Ruben Dias, with the Manchester City star talking to Rio Ferdinand on the former Manchester United defender's YouTube channel.
The Reds missed Virgil van Dijk greatly last season as he picked up an ACL injury that kept him out for most of the campaign but he has been back this year and looked back to his imperious best.
Indeed, speaking on YouTube, De Bruyne said the Liverpool man would make his five-a-side team:
"I think he's up there. He was unbelievable before his injury.
"He came back to a real high level. It's very difficult always to say 'he's better than him...' but he's probably top three in the world alongside Ruben [Dias] and some other players. I think he deserves it."
Anfield Watch Verdict
Van Dijk remains the best centre-half in the world, despite the strong efforts of the likes of Ruben Dias at Manchester City.
It probably speaks volumes that a player like Kevin De Bruyne is giving this verdict, given that he has experience of playing against and with the pair.
Certainly, this is a nod to the Dutchman being the one to beat when it comes to centre-halves.
