Jurgen Klopp is not a candidate to take over as Bayern Munich manager next season, the Liverpool boss' agent has confirmed.

Klopp is set to step down as Liverpool manager at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, having shocked the footballing world with his announcement last month.

The 56-year-old revealed he is running out of energy and will take a sabbatical, before deciding what to do next following his Anfield exit, but promised never to lead another English club.

Klopp will not go back on his intentions to take time out even for the soon-to-be vacant Bayern Munich job, his agent has insisted.

"Jurgen Klopp will not coach any club or national team for a year after this current season. That remains unchanged," Marc Kosicke is quoted as saying by Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg.

Like Liverpool, Bayern are in the market for a new head coach, with reports that Thomas Tuchel will be removed from his position at the end of the season.

The German champions have struggled for form under the former Chelsea boss and sit eight points off the top of the Bundesliga currently.

The decision to remove Tuchel in the summer comes after three straight defeats for Bayern in all competitions, while the club appear in danger of failing to win any silverware for the first time in 12 years.

Xabi Alonso, currently leading the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, is understood to be Bayern's top managerial target to replace Tuchel.

The highly rated 42-year-old is also the frontrunner to succeed Klopp at Liverpool and appears set to have a big choice on his hands in the coming weeks.
