Jurgen Klopp has slammed people who questioned if Thiago Alcantara suited his style of play.
Speaking in his pre-Everton press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp hit back at people who were questioning Thiago joining Liverpool.
"People were questioning if Thiago suited our football? Thank God these people don't make decisions!" said Klopp.
"Thiago wanted to join us and he knew how we play. He thinks a lot about football. We knew he would fit in. It's been about getting fit, staying fit and getting used to slight differences from his former club. Then you can go from there.
"We signed him because we knew he would help us. His only problem was that he was injured."
Anfield Watch Verdict
These comments aren't aimed at anyone directly but the most recent critic of Thiago came in the form of former West Ham player Paolo Di Canio.
Di Canio claimed, as cited by LFC Transfer Room, that Thiago wasn't suitable for Klopp's play style.
“You can’t play with Curtis Jones, who is a reliable kid, along with two more experienced ones. And Thiago Alcantara, who's not suitable for Klopp’s game,” said Di Canio.

"Yes it is great, but I don't like to talk about just one player. I could leave this room and someone could then say 'Thiago feels a little bit here' - so let's just carry on." 🔴 pic.twitter.com/Rh8CcYf41v

When Thiago joined Liverpool for £20m in 2020, he had just come off an unbelievable season with Bayern Munich, which included winning the Champions League.
He was also considered the best midfielder in the world that season. The fact that some professional footballers questioned his footballing ability is crazy.
Klopp has always wanted to play with a passing maestro in midfield but he hasn't had the players available to him.
Now the German has Thiago and with him being fully fit, we're starting to see how Klopp wants his midfield to perform.
For the past two or three games, he has been mesmerising to watch. Hopefully, he can stay fit for the remainder of the season as he's going to be key to us attempting to win the quadruple.
