Jurgen Klopp provides an injury update on Mohamed Salah and Joe Gomez

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said that Mohamed Salah and Joe Gomez should be fit for the Champions League final.

Speaking in his pre-Wolves press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp confirmed that Gomez's injury isn't as bad as initially feared.

"Joe Gomez has good news, we want a reassuring second scan. But we thought after the game we were lucky. It is just a knock," he said.

"It was a proper knock. I was concerned until I saw Joey's face in the dressing room. If it is fine, then we will see what he can do today or tomorrow."

Klopp also spoke about Salah's injury, saying that the Egyptian doesn't want to take any risks ahead of the Champions League final next weekend.

"The rest of the boys look all good, what we do for the weekend, I don't know yet. Mo doesn't want to take any risks, but it looks good.

"My ideal solution is that they can play at the weekend or at least be on the bench. If not, we take it from there."

Anfield Watch Verdict

It seems like the pair won't be involved in Sunday's game against Wolves at Anfield. Trent Alexander-Arnold was completely rested against Southampton so he'll be back for the final day of the Premier League season.

Salah also seems determined not to get injured before the Champions League final so we could see him not playing at all against Bruno Lage's side.

If that is the case then Salah could be giving up his Premier League Golden Boot award. Tottenham's Son Heung-min is currently one goal behind the Egyptian and he'll be hoping he can score a few goals against already relegated Norwich on the final day.

If we win the Champions League final against Real Madrid I doubt Salah will care too much about losing the Golden Boot.
