"He will definitely be back for the Champions League final," Klopp said.
"Before? We will see. Fab is a professional. He wasn't happy about it but he's taken it. He's absolutely OK."
Anfield Watch Verdict
Even though Fabinho missing the FA Cup final is a big blow, it would've been detrimental if he missed the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
The Brazilian has been the glue for our midfield since he joined after the Champions League final defeat against Real Madrid in 2018.
📺 Jurgen Klopp on celebrating with the Liverpool fans:
"We couldn't properly celebrate the Carabao Cup because we played three days later! We won't be able to celebrate this properly if we win as we play Southampton three days later." 🔴 pic.twitter.com/ApfJX6xO1P
Fab playing will be key to Liverpool controlling the midfield against the likes of Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
Despite not being a natural number six, Jordan Henderson has proved that he is more than good enough to fill in for Fabinho when he needs a rest or is injured.
With Chelsea's poor run of form, Hendo will make up for the loss of the Brazilian and his leadership qualities should shine through in that position.
Speaking on who might replace Fabinho for the rest of the season, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp said that he has many options, he just has to choose the right one.
"They all play a very important part. The attitude these boys show help us to deliver the performances we deliver. We might play 90 minutes or 120 minutes tomorrow. That won't change the KO time at Southampton," said Klopp.
"Depending on the City result on Sunday, we go for something or not and then we make decisions. We have enough options, the job is to find the right one."
