Jurgen Klopp provides an injury update ahead of Spurs game

Jurgen Klopp has provided a fitness update ahead of tomorrow's important Premier League game vs Tottenham.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp gave a fitness update on Roberto Firmino ahead of tomorrow's match at Anfield.

"I don't know about Bobby, but he is back in training, so we have to make a decision. He hasn't done a lot, he had to let it settle," said Klopp.

It might be possible but it might make more sense to train through the weekend. Everybody else is okay."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Currently, we're in the really good position that Firmino's injury isn't going to make a massive impact. This season, when he has been fit, the Brazilian has played a bit-part role.

The signing of Luis Diaz has meant that Bobby was dropped to fifth choice attacker behind the Colombian, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota.

Despite this lack of game time, Firmino has still put up decent numbers in the Premier League, scoring five goals and getting three assists in 18 games.

Bobby also offers something that no other Liverpool forward can offer. Klopp has been playing around with Mane in the false nine role but the Senegalese international doesn't have the same skillset as Firmino.

Saying that, since Sadio started playing a bit deeper, he has started to surprisingly score more goals.

Hopefully, Firmino can return to fitness as soon as possible, as when he comes off the bench he changes the game completely.

The Brazilian gives the opponent another headache that they might not be expecting. This could be huge for the remaining Premier League games.

Also, his return to fitness is going to be massive for the Champions League and FA Cup finals as we have more substitutes to play around with in those games.

Whatever happens, Firmino has been a part of this historic season and even though he might be coming to the end of his peak years, he's still adored by Liverpool fans.
