Jurgen Klopp provides an injury update ahead of Merseyside Derby

Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update on his players ahead of the Merseyside derby on Sunday.

Speaking in his pre-Everton press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp confirmed that Roberto Firmino has a chance to play on Sunday after missing the Manchester City game.

"No other problems but Bobby is getting better and better. It's uncomfortable and painful so we have to make sure he is there today on the pitch. There are still two days to go, so maybe he can be involved."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Whatever Klopp and his medical staff are doing this season they need to keep doing it for the next month.

Even though we're in the most intense period of the season, all of our players seem to be thriving on the game time and no one is getting injured, which is great.

There is a genuine possibility that we can win the quadruple if we continue to keep all of our key players fit.

Two players who have previously had injury issues with Liverpool, Naby Keita and Thiago Alcantara, have been so important to our midfield this season.

With them fully fit and firing on all cylinders, we've seen what they can truly offer and so has Jurgen Klopp.

Speaking before the Everton match on Sunday, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the German called the pair the best midfielders in the Bundesliga before they joined Liverpool.

"When Naby is fit and has rhythm, he is really, really good. He is a great player. The future is bright for him," said Klopp.

"Naby Keita and Thiago were the best midfielders in the Bundesliga by far. We have them both. That's cool."

Hopefully, this upturn in form from the pair can help Liverpool win the historic quadruple this season!
