Jurgen Klopp has used his programme notes for tonight's game with Arsenal as a platform for praise for the Reds' academy set-up.
We saw on Sunday last weekend that there are several good young players at Liverpool coming through, with them helping the side beat Shrewsbury Town 4-1 at Anfield in the FA Cup.
Indeed, the hope has to be that some of them are going to break through in the seasons ahead and Klopp has shown that if a player is good enough he will give them a chance regardless of their age.
That all said, then, he has been full of praise for the academy:

Anfield Watch Verdict
The EFL Cup is a competition that regularly sees the big clubs like Liverpool play the younger players and reserve players in the earlier stages, and that happened again this season.
They've helped get the club to the semi-finals of the competition this year, too, but there's a good chance the senior pros will be taking over tonight against Arsenal.
That obviously makes sense given the size and nature of tonight's game but hopefully some of the youngsters will be on the bench to experience the occasion and, who knows, maybe one or two of them will get some minutes during the tie.
