Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update ahead of Saturday's game against Newcastle United.
Speaking in his pre-Newcastle United press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp confirmed that Kostas Tsimikas would return to the squad ahead of tomorrow's game but that Curtis Jones and Roberto Firmino are both still absent.
"Kostas [Tsimikas] and Curtis [Jones] had a couple of issues," said Klopp. "Kostas is back but Curtis is not yet back. Bobby [Firmino] will not be ready for tomorrow either. He hasn't trained yet. But that is it."
Anfield Watch Verdict
During Wednesday's Champions League clash against Villarreal, it was confirmed that Tsimikas and Jones were both missing from the team due to due to illnesses that were not COVID-19 related.
Thankfully their issues seemed to be nothing major as picking up injuries now, even for fringe players, could derail our quadruple push.

Firmino's injury on the other hand seems a bit more serious. It was thought that the Brazilian would only miss a game or two but it's now looking like he could miss the final run-in for the Reds.
Fortunately, Klopp isn't short of attacking options. Luis Diaz has been on fire since joining the club and Sadio Mane looks like a different player now that he's playing up front.
Mohamed Salah has also returned to goalscoring form and Diogo Jota is always available if we need a goal from nothing.
This Firmino injury may have been a massive issue a few seasons ago but thanks to Klopp and Michael Edwards, we are now no longer short of attacking players to help us win games.
There is also the clutchest player in the world on the bench, Divock Origi, if we need to call on him.
