Jurgen Klopp has said that young midfielder Harvey Elliott is not too far away from returning to team training.
The former Fulham youngster had a great season last year on loan at Blackburn and that set him up for a potential breakthrough year at Liverpool this campaign.
Indeed, he started in the side and looked well at home but a freak ankle injury in an inocuous challenge at Leeds United has seen him ruled out for months on end.
He is getting near a return, though, with him back running out on the grass and Klopp says it won't be long until he returns to team training:
"Harvey Elliott looks really promising on the pitch, he is not too far away from team training."
Anfield Watch Verdict
Klopp and co. will be eager to see Elliott back in the fold in training but they'll also, of course, be eager to ensure that they do not rush the midfielder and make any injury reccurrence occur.
He is a top young player and one that could become a real star for Liverpool.
He's taking this recovery in his stride, too, and it seems it won't be long before he is back involved with the first-team.
