Liverpool took a bit of stick last Thursday for their rather toothless display against Arsenal in the EFL Cup - especially given the Reds were at home and against a team that was reduced to ten men for much of the game.
That in mind, Klopp felt the display showed that we can get by without two of our star forwards - at least in the near term:
Klopp on missing Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane:
"It's completely normal. We knew it would happen when the boys went away. It's really helpful the result today to calm these discussions down a little bit." #awlive [sky]
Anfield Watch Verdict
It was a performance that will inspire confidence amongst the squad that performances and wins can be got even without Salah and Mane.
Of course, those two are hugely important for the Reds and must be kept around for several years yet, but at least some of the other players stepped up on Sunday.
Up next, then, a trip to Arsenal where we are going to need goals.
